Guide to Men’s Shaving Products
Basically, shaving involves swiping a razor across your face until all the facial hair is gone and removed. Although you may have been shaving your beard for many years now, it is still beneficial if you hear from dermatologists and barbers who have been shaving men for decades and which might help you get the best possible shave.
It takes more effort and know how to really have a good shave. Its objective is to get rid of that repetitious thrusting of the blade on your face or scrapping it repeatedly with the razor until all those prickly stubble’s are gone. It is actually giving a good one pass shave on your face.
So instead of keeping on thrusting the razor on your face, you should spend time in prepping your skin for the razor. So you need to wash your face with a facial cleanser so that the protein in your hair will become soft. don’t use soap for this because it takes away the softening oil in the hair.
Next is lather it up with a shaving cream or gel and let it stay there for about two to three minutes to further soften the hair and make a one-pass shave possible. The longer you make it sit on your face, the better, although spending the time is not always practical.
Another shaving product that you will need is a brush, you cannot just rely on your fingers to lather your shaving cream unlike the shaving brush. A good brush really pushes the cream into the hair and makes it much easier to shave.
When it comes to the razor, there is no need to be fooled with a multiple-blade razors. it is enough to get a single blade razor as it can do a good shaving job, but most professionals prefer a double blade razor, and nothing more as long as you prep your hair properly. Of course you need to make sure that your razor is sharp. If you see a nick in the blade, then you need to discard it. You need to change the blade every week or two especially if you shave everyday. Since you need to change blades often, it is good to stick with an inexpensive single blade razor. If you blade is expensive like those three or five blade razors then it is less likely that you will change them as often as you should.
Another key to having a good shave is keeping the skin hot and moist. Moisturize a towel to also prep you skin and then again during the shave to keep the hairs soft. Kits are available with these tools to be able to do this.
It is important to shave with the grain or in the direction your hair is growing. You may get a closer shave if you go against the grain but this will make the razor burn or ingrown hairs are more likely to offshootl
